Bernard, who was chosen as an Outstanding Reviewer for 2009 by the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and the Review of Educational Research (RER). He will be recognized for his extraordinary service at the Publications Committee Reception at the AERA annual meeting in Denver on April 30th, 2010.

  • October 2009 - Congratulations to Bruce M. Shore! In recognition of his exemplary dedication to students, commitment to teaching, and creative conceptualization and implementation of instructional models, Bruce has been awarded McGill’s "Principal’s Prize for Excellence in Teaching". The prize will be awarded at the 2009 Fall Convocation ceremony.
  • October 2009 - Vivek Venkatesh, assistant professor in Educational Technology and associate member of the Centre for the Study of Learning and Performance was recently awarded a contract by the UNESCO Institute for Statistics. Venkatesh will oversee the analysis of data from the recently completed pilot test of UNESCO's Information and Communication Technologies For Education (ICT4E) initiative. In addition to conducting rigorous quality assurance of data collected from close to 30 participating countries, Venkatesh and his team will present the results of their analysis to member nations of UNESCO in a meeting in Montevideo in Uruguay in December of 2009.
  • September 2009 - Congratulations to Krista! Krista R. Muis of McGill University is one of Division 15 (Educational Psychology) of the American Psychological Association's 2009 winners of the Early Career Research Awards.   • February 2009 - CSLP members would like to extend a hearty congratulations to the centre's Director and Research Chair, Dr. Philip Abrami for being selected as the recipient of the 2009 Outstanding Contributions To Cooperative Learning Award. This award honors an individual who has significantly contributed to the theory and research underlying cooperative learning and is being given on behalf of the Cooperative Learning:  Theory, Research, and Practice Special Interest Group of the American Educational Research Association. A formal announcement will take place on Wednesday, April 15 at the annual meeting of AERA in San Diego.
