Welcome to the website of the New Sounds 2013 Conference to be held on May 17-19, 2013, at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
New Sounds gathers researchers from all over the world to discuss issues related to the teaching and learning of second/foreign language (L2) phonetics, phonology, and pronunciation.
The conference will cover a variety of themes related to the acquisition of L2 phonetics, phonology, and pronunciation including:
- speech perception and production
- theories of L2 phonological learning
- phonetics and phonology in SLA
- acquisition of L2 phonology and phonotactics
- multilingualism and the acquisition of post-L2 phonology
- the application of new technologies to pronunciation teaching and learning
- sociolinguistic, psycholinguistic, and neurolinguistic aspects of L2 phonological learning
