The government of Quebec launched last November a consultation on the governance of school boards and to examine and recommend various strategies that school boards could implement to better respond to the needs and demands of their respective population. To this end,   la ministre de l’education, du loisir et du sport (MELS), Mme. Michelle Courchesne consulted representatives from school boards, associations, and union groups.  

QAAL was consulted at this consultation held both in Montreal and Quebec City.  The final consultation session was held in Quebec City on Feb. 20, 2008 at which QAAL submitted its brief along with approximately 25 other representatives . The following is our brief as presented in Quebec City.
