Fatemeh Gharibi (they/them) is a Ph.D. student in Gender, Feminist and Women’s Studies at York University. Their interdisciplinary work bridges International Education, Sexuality Studies, and Theatre. Fatemeh explores the question of voice for women, queer, and trans people of colour and how it can be enacted through performance. In their PhD project, they focus on how LGBTQ+ international students understand their gender and sexual identities in Canadian universities and colleges. They investigate the intersection of gender and sexual identity with race and temporary status and its influence on these students as they navigate the nuances of living between worlds.
