We are a group of university-based researchers, professors, graduate students, language learners, and educatorscurrently workingin three different Canadian provinces; some of us have lived here for a long time, some arrived more recently. We are united by a passion for multilingualism and the rich sociolinguistic diversity of our classrooms and communities.
From our interactionswith international students, we understand that studyingat a Canadian university as a multilingual student can present a unique set of teaching and learning needs and opportunities. To understand the complexity of their experiences to a greater extent, the MUSE project engages multilingual students in activities that prompt reflection and sharing about their universityexperiences. Our aim is touse this knowledge to generate research-based recommendations for programs, faculty, staff, and other multilingual students.
