What should my abstract include?
An abstract should situate your work clearly in a specific field, provide your specific research questions, and indicate the gap that you are filling with your research. The abstract should be in APA format. You should identify how your proposal is relevant to the 2021 theme, Moving Forward: Navigating Education in Times of Transition.

You can include references that are absolutely necessary to describe your work, however, for the sake of clarity, please try to keep these to a minimum. Remember, the abstract is how people will judge whether or not to attend your presentation. Because this is an interdisciplinary conference, make it as interesting and as jargon-free as possible to attract a maximum number of attendees!

What format should my poster be?
Since the GSDE 2021 will be online. The posters should be a Power Point (or equivalent) or a PDF.

What if I submit a proposal and decide to change it?

How can I volunteer to help at GSDE?
Each year GSDE needs a number of volunteers to ensure the smooth running of the conference. We are looking for students willing to act as moderators for presentations, as well as to provide support and technical assistance. We will be looking to recruit volunteers approximately one month before the event. If you are interested in volunteering, please complete this form or contact: gsde.doe@concordia.ca.

Is there funding available for the conference? How about accommodation?
As this is a student-run conference, we are unable to provide accommodation or funding for presenters. However, your own university may provide funding for you to attend a conference, so check at your university.

What is the role of the moderator?
The moderator will act as a timekeeper and facilitate the 5 or 10 minute discussion following each presentation. All moderators will be provided with a set of guidelines at a volunteer orientation.

Do I have to register?
All participants, presenters, volunteers and audience members must register online for the conference, as lunch will be provided for all registered participants.

Can I submit my abstract and present in French?
Oui! Vous pouvez donner votre communication en français.
