The rich but unkown history of adult education in Quebec

Daniel Baril is Executive Director of the Institut de coopération pour l’éducation des adultes (ICÉA). Prior to this, he served as Adult Education Policy Analyst at ICÉA for 15 years.

Daniel Baril is a member of the Education Sectorial Commission of the Canadian UNESCO Commission and Chair of the Adult Learning and Education Working Group of the Commission. M. Baril is a specialist in adult education policy and the right to adult education.


Amy Cooper

Amy Cooper

Amy is a Senior Education Specialist with Equitas – International Centre for Human Rights Education, where her work is focused on promoting children and youth leadership around inclusion, respect for diversity, and equality in communities across Canada.

She has been working within the field of human rights education for over 10 years and designed and facilitated trainings for human rights defenders and educators in countries such as Georgia, Ukraine, Belgium, Sri Lanka, and Japan. She has shared her work with national and international audiences, including at the United Nations, the Metropolis World Congress, the World Social Forum, and the Canadian Race Relations Foundation.

Amy’s areas of interest include social justice education, educational evaluation, and trying her best to keep up with her two young children!

Amy has a M.A. in Child Study and Education from OISE/UT and a Graduate Diploma in Community Economic Development from Concordia.
